At what age did you switch from a toddler bed to a twin size bed?
My daughter is going to be 4 in February and she has been in a toddler bed since she was 2. I was just just wondering what age is a good or appropriate age to switch to a twin bed or if it is even necessary to do until she has outgrown the toddler bed.
We switched at 5 1/2, just before she started kindergarten. My daughter was/is petite and would have fit in the toddler bed longer, but we thought it a was a good time to move her into a ‘big girl’ bed. (She has a small bedroom, so the toddler bed WAS a big space saver.)
Switch whenever you want, or when she no longer fits.

my whole family skipped the toddler bed and went straight to a twin.

My daughter went from the crib to a twin bed when she turned 2. I wouldn’t see why you’d have to move her to a twin till she’s outgrown the toddler bed.

We just switched now, my daughter is 2 1/2. She likes the idea of having a nice big bed for herself. Also she was getting to the point of being a little "long" for her toddler bed.

i say any time now. if your child is comfortable sleeping in a bigger bed than go for it. every child is different. my five year old sleeps in a toddler size bed while my 7 year old sleeps in a twin size bed. use your judgment or you can ask her if she wants a bigger bed.

my one year old is still in a crib, but my 2 year old went strait from crib to twin size bed. as far as I see it, there isnt a use for a toddler bed, just more money to spend…..you can just go from crib to big twin bed!

Well, my daughter is 4 years old and she is short, for now. My husband and I are very tall. So we postponed getting her a big girl bed until about a month ago, she was outgrowing the bed. We got a full sized bed and it sits low to the ground, so she has had no problems and she will be able to grow into it. I think 4 is a good age, but it really depends on the child and there growing needs.

whenever you want. Like the others have said, some kids never go into toddler beds. I would say when she gets in school and perhaps starts having friends over, they might pick on her about it.
