What cartoon involves a toddler that would sneak to his sandbox rocketship at night and travel to space?

It was on either cartoon network or nickelodeon late in the afternoon about 10 or so years ago. The baby would sneak away in the middle of the night to his sandbox and it would turn into a rocketship. He would embark on adventures throughout the universe, making friends and extinguishing enemies.

    Scenario I am thinking of:
    Their was a 8-10year old brainy kid with other kids who made spaceships out of carnival rides to thrwart off aliens. This kid made a diamond out of coal, picked roses for his mom for a favor. Had a robotic dog. Is that it?
    His dad was a dork. (actual movie made from cartoon)
