Is it safe to travel to Beirut with a toddler?

My husband will go for a business trip in Beirut and wanting me and my son to come with him. I am very interested in going thinking of all the beautiful things to photograph there but I’m a bit worry about taking our toddler (he’s almost 3 years old btw). I tried look it up on Google but didn’t found much information about traveling there with small children.
Thanks!
No, we are not looking for partying and leaving him in a stranger’s care. What I meant is in general, would it be fun and most importantly safe for him to explore the city during the day with me especially since it’s my husband’s business trip so he would be working during the day. I read the travel warning from the US State Dept about Beirut but I wanted to asked your opinion especially if you have been there before.

Well I am in Lebanon now and I have a 1yr and 5yr old. I am American and my husband is from here we have visited here twice. The 1st time my 5yr was 2. He had fun, but that is because he has family here. I don’t see a child of your age having fun here. There isn’t really anything for him to do. However there is a lot of seeing thing for you. I am not talking about the night life. Life here is very diff, but I have to say if I was you with my child and not having fam here I would go. But I have traveled a lot, and with my young kids and my older kids. So if you have chance do it embrace life, but expect a change….. Drink bottled water, and get meds for you and your child for fever, and diarrhea because you will get it. It’s a given when you travel overseas, you get it in anyplace.

oh and if you come lol and you hear something like a bomb lol that the stupid kids shooting fireworks and all times of the day and they are lound not like in the US. And i live next to disney in Cali so i was used to firework but these jolted me.

No don’t worry I went to Lebanon when I was 3 years old too and nothing happened to me. It’s really fun and safe there, satisfaction guaranteed! Good luck!

I don’t know what you mean by travelling with a toddler…if you’re counting on babysitting services in the hotels, I don’t think they offer that in Lebanon, besides I’m sure you wouldn’t want to leave your son with strangers…you would have to take him with you when you go visit places (car drives are at least 2 hours long so get him his favourite toys and if you have a portable DVD player you can use in the car)etc…going out by night will be a problem if you want to experience clubbing but he can go to restaurants with you…other than that I think he will enjoy the trip.

Kate has a good point. Do you want to go out with him or leave him with someone to take care of.

If you wanted to take him with you, so it’s totally safe and he’ll enjoy it.

But I don’t recommend leaving him with a stranger.

    Enjoy your trip.
