    There are a few things that I’d like to say, not all car seat belts lock, older vehicles you will need to get a metal locking clip, or get a Britax and it has lock offs. Also, the pad you put under the car seat is NOT recommended by child passenger techs. Another thing you should say is that children should stay rear facing until the max weight on there seat, which is normally 33-35 pounds. And not all people at fire departments are techs..look up your city online to see where to go.

    are you aware that the pad you put below the car seat is NOT recommended? I am a car seat tech and tell people NOT to use those. It doesn’t prevent a car seat from moving. It could make it move more. It’s not tested with the car seat and should NOT be used.
