Can a toddler go with his grandparents to travel somewhere within the U.S. with ONLY his mom’s permission?
My sister wanted to know if her almost two year old son can travel with his grandparents somewhere within the U.S. with only her authorization? His dad hasn’t been in her kids life at all.
They will travel by plane
Thanks for answering everyone, i’ll let my sister know
Technically yes, however, if dad finds out, he can take her to court to protest the fact his child will be leaving the state. And I think actually she has to tell him, but if dad is estranged, and doesn’t have any contact with kids or mom, then it probably won’t matter since she is custodial parent.

Going through crazy custody issues right now and have had to do LOTS of research.
It’s always a good idea for them to have a letter from her (notarized if possible) giving permission for them to have temporary custody and to make any necessary medical decisions in case of illness or injury.
