The consensus seemed to be that yes, just check with your doctor to make sure the baby is healthy. Delta Airlines restriction is 7 days with a doctor's note.

I guess if you have to travel you dont have a choice. Just make the baby suck on the breast or the bottle, because of pressure.

I wouldn't do it. Way to young…germs, air pressure, crying…

Ask your doctor what the precautions are before you go…

It is safe, as long as mother and baby are healthy. Have a look here for more info:

and check with the airline before booking, just in case their policy differs, or if they require papers from your doctor.

A couple of weeks before my son was born my father in law became ill and I asked the pediatrician if it was okay to take my son on a plane and she said around two weeks old would be good. The only time she advised against it was during flu season and if you could avoid flying. Just check with the pediatrican and see what he/she says.

I would say with all the flu worries going around right now, I would not be taking a new baby anywhere in a confined space.

i guess it's safe if both of you are healthy i would bring a pacifier or something the baby can suck on because of the pressure, it can really bother her ears … i personally wouldn't if i really didnt have to though .. airports really freak me out germ wise if you really think about it especially with having such a young baby …. but bring hand santizer with if you do go .. i'm not a germaphobe by any means but airports are yucky lol

My daughter will be 6 weeks old when we fly the 21st. I think flying at 2 weeks is fine. Pack a pacifier or bottle(if you bottle feed) for your baby to suck on during landing and take off.

    Good Luck!
