The "Haba Dragonstone Castle" is a nice toy; you can set up all sorts of scenarios and stories to play out. The dragon rattles, but very quietly. It comes in a little plastic zippered case, easy to take along.

No. They need their own passport. There are special rules for signing their name also.

Do I need a travel authorization for my toddler?

Hi everyone. I live in austin and will be going to Orlando for vacation with my daughter. My husband will not be coming along. Do I need a travel authorization from him since he isnt coming or will I be okay since my daughter and I have the same last name and all? Thanks!

I must be missing something.

The only way you will need travel authorization is if you and your husband are going through a divorce. And if you are going through a divorce the courts may not allow you to leave the state with your child same last name or not.

If you and your husband are happily married and you plan on coming back then no you do not need authorization.

My sister and her baby got Philippine passport….now she’s in malaysia with the baby. The father of her baby is Malaysian but they are not married…Now the father want to travel with his son without the mother. Are the immigration of MalAysia will allow them to travel without the mother?

Unless the Malaysians have a very strange law with regards to this, then yes. Generally speaking an infant can travel with any adult – a grandparent, older sibling, etc.

The only thing that would usually change that would be a court order / injunction.

I realize I’m asking a lot of questions. My son is turning 2 this august, and although he might no remember it much. I want to travel with him to different locations(in the US as well as outside the US).

I’m wondering if any other parents have traveled with their toddler’s/children?
Which locations have you visited, Would you recommend??
I’m thinking of going to the Galapagos?
Hmm..Also Vaccinating? Did you Vaccinate your child months before you left?

We took our daughter to Ireland at around 3 months old; and Spain at around 5 months. There are no particular vaccinations needed for either country though.

The actual plane flights were not fun.

I thought it was, but I’ve just seen it happen and even on a short journey I think it totally irresponsible.

In the UK a child should be restrained in an appropriate child seat unless they are travelling in the back of a licensed taxi (Hackney Carriage).

In any case, even then it’s extremely dangerous in the event of an accident (but I’m guessing you know that bit already).

Is it a good idea to travel on a red eye flight with infant baby?

I need to travel cross country on an airplane with a 11 month old baby and I was wondering if it is a good idea to travel on a red eye airplane flight with infant baby? The thought is that she would be sleepy when we got on the plane and hopefully would sleep thru the flight. Has anyone done this before or have seen it themselves when they traveled on a red eye?

Our observations and experiences are that actually babies sleep more on red-eye flights (and therefore are quieter–for which we are very grateful!) than on daytime flights. Maybe because its dark?

The main thing is to remember that infants sleep over 60% of the time anyway, so their sleep won’t be as disrupted by a night flight as an adult or teen’s would be.

Could air travel clear toddler glue ear?

My son is under 3 and has a potential case of glue ear. We saw a paediatrician who said his ear was full of liquid and said we should see an ENT specialist a week later. Between appointments we went on 2 1.5 hour flights.
The ENT said there wasnt much liquid in his ears at all and sent us away for some months.

Could the pressure in the cabin have helped the trapped liquid escape?
A week on my son got a fever and suspect ear infection. Another week on he is again feverish and complaining of sore ears

My sister suffered really badly from glue ear.The pressure of flying always made it worse but some times it took a week or so before it was obvious.

Air Travel with toddler?

I am flying on Malaysian air, for 8 hours then two hour transit then another four hour flight.

My child is three. This is the first time I travel with her, can you give me useful hints guys, to settle her and to make it easy on her.?

Also am I expected to use the seat belts with her? Could it be dangerous because they are adult seat belts? I have heard that w can take our own car seat but a luggage and a toddler is handful you see! A booster seat can be managed though, however she is 1 kg under for a booster seat. ( I am thinking of a booster seat though)

Do the airline provides any children harness or do we have to take our own? Also are we allowed to take a prepared bottle for them and some dry food like crackers? I have heard cooked food are not allowed?

ICAO rules that all passengers riding in a seat have to wear safety belts.
The biggest problem you will have with your child is changes in pressure as the plane ascends and descends.
Bring a binky (something kids use to suck on) and this will cause your childs ears to pop keeping them more comfortable with the pressure changes.
