Scary Creatures for Halloween That Cause the Loudest Screams

In most cultures, Halloween is believed to be the time when the line that divides the world of the living and the sphere of the dead becomes hazy. Supernatural phenomenon and events pertaining to the paranormal become a focal point of interest during this festival.

Needless to say, scary creatures rule out all other fascinations during Halloween. It is when we are reminded of our deepest darkest fears as kid, and our creepiest nightmares as adults. Scary creatures for Halloween don’t come as a surprise, but despite that, they haven’t failed to send us running while screaming like pesky frightened little toddlers.

I’m sure that everyone has feared one, two or even all of these scary creatures for Halloween. To round it all up, I’ve listed some of the scariest dark entities that cause the loudest screams during Halloween.

1. Boogeyman

The boogeyman has been the trump card of most parents to muffle children’s tantrums. Although there are no accounts of this scary creature’s appearance except for being an outlandish metaphor of terror, we have all been victims of this horrendous creature said to be hiding under our beds since childhood.

2. Ghosts

There have been many accounts of ghost sightings, and countless movies have been made about these scary creatures for Halloween. Ghosts are often depicted in films, stories and folklores as restless spirits of people who had untimely deaths. The description may already sound creepy, but first hand encounters with these scary creatures would send you running for your life.

3. Zombie

They may be portrayed as walking at a glacial pace, but better believe that zombies are not slow in inducing fear among the living. Zombie movies have stocked a lot of cash out of moviegoers dying to see a zombie dominate the world and likewise, trembling at the mere sight of these scary creatures for Halloween.

4. Dragons

These creatures may be portrayed as magical and mythical creatures, but that doesn’t make them any less scary than any of the creatures listed here. With their humongous appearance, horrific serpent-like feature, and razor-sharp claws and incisors, dragons are topnotch when it comes to bringing to life the spirit of fright.

5. Werewolves

For a time, movies about men turning into wolves during a full moon have become the in thing in Hollywood. It is not really a secret that men, by nature, fear death, but dying in the hands of a werewolf would multiply that fear tenfold. The sight of a werewolf’s sharp teeth, claws and fiery red eyes is enough to make someone scream to save his life.

6. Leprechauns

Leprechauns come in small packages, but their size is not to be undermined. These scary creatures for Halloween are so mischievous that they could make your life miserable because of the fear they cause. Just like how the film Leprechaun depicted them, Leprechauns hold a grudge on those people who would steal a coin from their treasure.

7. Krakens

According to myths and stories, seafarers fear and detest Krakens for drowning their entire troop. Who wouldn’t be scared of a giant squid whipping out its tentacles to get you? A Kraken’s enormous size and fearsome appearance is enough to give you second thoughts about going on a boat for a Halloween trip.

8. Ravens

Black is in during Halloween. Although ravens might be one of the blackest (literally) creatures on earth, you wouldn’t want to see a flock of them this Halloween. According to traditions and folklores, a sighting of a raven would bring bad luck. Ravens are also said to be ghosts of murdered people. This is truly one of those scary creatures for Halloween that doesn’t need to bite you to make you scream.

9. Vampires

They are classic scary creatures for Halloween. In almost every culture in the world, there is always a tinge of a blood-sucking entity. Vampires are undead creatures that go out at night on a killing spree. They suck the blood and life out of their victims to survive.

10. Poltergeist

You don’t see them, but they’re around you. Although only commonly known to seek attention from the living through making weird noises or moving furniture, Poltergeist could also be very aggressive and violent by hurling objects in the air and hurting people. There is really nothing scarier than being slashed by an unseen creature.

We’ve all had our shares of screams and wails of fright caused by these scary creatures for Halloween. Whether in movies or in close encounters, these strange creatures are made to bring fear.

The Rainbow vacuum is unique in the fact that it is the only truly hypoallergenic vacuum in the world. Most allergists (allergy doctors) will write a prescription for their patients with allergies so that they might be able to purchase a Rainbow vacuum. Here is why. All bag / filter vacuum cleaners have millions of holes in the bag / filter; if the bag didn’t have holes, it would blow up as air and dirt was sucked into it. Vacuums which use filters are even worse. They have twice as many holes! The tiny holes in vacuum bags and filters allow the very fine and microscopic particles of dust and dirt to exit those holes and reenter the air. Most of this discarded human skin is found on our furniture, bedding, rugs, carpeting and most certainly on any pillows that we use. It is not the human skin that causes allergies. Rather, it is a nasty creature called the dust mite who lives by eating our dead skin. Therefore, wherever we shed our skin, we will find millions of dust mites inhabiting those areas. To make matters worse, these tiny microscopic creatures (40,000 can fit on one speck of dust) go to the bathroom and release their fecal matter throughout the day. Then, we breathe in this fecal matter which is being released by millions of dust mites. This is what poses a tremendous health problem for both the individual who has allergies and babies, infants and toddlers who play on the carpeting and rugs or with their stuffed animals and then go to bed with these dust mites. Medical journals state that dust mites and their fecal matter are the number one trigger for allergy attacks in people who have allergies. They are also the number one agent which cause toddlers and young children to become new allergy sufferers. The main problem is that babies and infants go from crawling on the carpeting to walking and playing at the level of the furniture, and when they retire to their beds at night, they sleep in the same conditions.

Thank God there is a solution to this terrible problem. It is called the Rainbow vacuum. Studies have repeatedly shown that when we clean our furniture, carpeting, and even our bedding and pillows with the Rainbow vacuum, the dust mites and their fecal matter will be removed and trapped inside the water of the Rainbow’s water basin. Any dog lover would want to have his pet inside the house. Having to share each activity and experience inside the house with your dog makes the owner happy and a lot less lonely. Unfortunately, bringing the dog in would also mean bringing in the dog poop and urine.

Affordable and Space Saving Decorating Ideas for Your New York Apartment

Apartments in New York are famous for being ridiculously tiny. Studio apartments are sometimes barely able to contain a twin bed, never mind any other sort of furniture or appliances. Apartments in New York are also famous for being ridiculously expensive! Some New Yorkers have to work two jobs: one job to pay for their rent, the second to pay for everything else.

Thankfully, with a little creativity you can decorate your New York apartment very cheaply. With a little bit more creativity you can fit a whole house worth of furniture and decorations into an apartment the size of a toddler’s shoe box.

Anybody can go to IKEA and copy one of their floor plan designs. Anybody can copy the decorating page out of a magazine or the style section. These are not tips that you will find on any “fancy” website but they will save you space and money.

1. Get a loft bed. Loft beds can usually be purchased relatively cheaply in New York. You can also construct a loft bed from some tall and sturdy bookcases and an old door. Bolt the bookcases to the floor and then bolt the door over the top of the bookcases. Place your mattress on top of the door. Instant loft bed with plenty of room underneath! If you construct your own loft bed make sure that everything is steady enough to remain standing in the event that you toss and turn in your sleep.

2. Shelving can be constructed by finding old industrial strength milk crates behind New York restaurants and shops and stacking them on top of each other. Purchase some pretty colored spray paint and use the paint to make the otherwise ugly milk crates pretty. These “shelving units” can be used for books, knick knacks, clothing, whatever.

3. You know those huge wooden spools that cable gets rolled onto? If you can find one of those, you have a great table. It’s a little on the short side, but if you stack it on a couple of risers, you should be able to elevate it to a normal table height without problems. Again, you can paint it or, if you don’t feel like painting, simply cover it in a nice piece of fabric and it will look fine!

4. Use a trunk as a coffee table and use it to house blankets and pillows or old books and magazines.

5. To save space in the kitchen use pretty hooks (can be found for pennies in New York’s second hand shops) to hang your pots and pans on the wall. This will free up your cabinets for food or whatever else you need to store. Plus, hanging the pots and pans gives your kitchen wall a great, three dimensional arty look!

6. Use an old dresser as a television stand and then store your DVDs in the drawers! Put the DVD player, video game consoles, VCR, etc. on a small bookshelf that sits next to the television set.

You’ll be surprised at all of the ideas you get as you get into decorating your New York home!

Applied Kinesiology
Applied kinesiology is the term most commonly used to identify a pseudo-scientific system of muscle-testing. It was initiated in 1964 by one George J. Goodheart, Jr., D.C., and has become quite elaborate. Its basic notion is that every organ dysfunction is accompanied by specific muscle weaknesses, which enable diseases to be diagnosed through muscle-testing procedures. Most practitioners are chiropractors, but naturopaths, bogus nutritionists, massage therapists, nurse practitioners, and multilevel distributors such as Nature’s Sunshine are also sometimes involved.

Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is described by its proponents as the therapeutic use of the essential oils of plants. The word ‘essential’ doesn’t refer to nutritional value but to the volatile, aromatic components that are the supposed essence of the plant. Essential oils are said to be highly concentrated substances extracted from the flowers, leaves, stalks, fruits, and roots, and also distilled from resins of the plant. They are alleged to contain hormones, vitamins, antibiotics, and antiseptics and to represent the “life force,” “spirit,” or “soul” of the plant. The oils are administered in small, holistic quantities through inhalation, massage, or other applications to the skin. The products include a wide range of products such as diffusers, lamps, pottery, candles, pendants, earrings, shampoos, skin creams, lotions, and bath salts, and shower gels.

Subliminal Tapes
Thousands of videotapes and audiotapes purported to contain hidden repeated messages are being marketed with claims that they can help people to lose weight, stop smoking, enhance athletic performance, quit drinking, think creatively, raise their IQ, make friends, reduce pain, improve vision, restore hearing, cure acne, conquer fears, read faster, speak effectively, handle criticism, relieve depression, enlarge breasts, and do just about anything else. At least one company has offered a subliminal tape for children; a toilet-training tape for toddlers. Many tapes contain music said to promote relaxation, and all are claimed to contain messages that are inaudible or barely audible. Videotapes have the same concept; they may feature images, said to be relaxing, combined with repeated visual messages shown so briefly that they cannot be seen at normal playing speeds.

Body Wrapping
Salons and spas exist where clients supposedly can trim inches off the waist, hips, and thighs. These facilities use wraps or garments with or without special lotions or creams applied to the skin for their treatment. The garments may be applied to parts of the body or the entire body. Clients are assured that fat will “melt away” and they can lose several inches from the problem area. Some claim that wrapping works because cellulite is water-logged fatty tissue.

Ear Candling
Ear candling, also known as auricular candling or coning, refers to various procedures that involve placing a cone-shaped device in the ear canal and supposedly extracting earwax and other impurities with the help of smoke or a burning wick like a candle. The origins of this candling are obscure. Ancient Tibet, China, Egypt, the pre-Columbian Americas, and even the mythical city of Atlantis are cited as possible origins. The procedures supposedly create a low-level vacuum that draws wax and other debris out of the ear canal along with whatever the ailment is. Some proponents even claim that impurities are removed from the brain itself, which is somehow connected to the canal.

Coral Calcium
Coral calcium is alleged to be a dietary supplement said derived from “remnants of living coral that have fallen from coral reefs, as a result of wave action or other natural processes.” It is also said to be mined from the old ocean beds at the base of the coral reefs in Okinawa, Japan. Actually, these “coral remnants” are limestone, which coral organisms originally manufacture as a protective shell. Since coral reefs are protected by the law, “coral calcium” is made by grinding up limestone that no longer contains any live organisms.

The Feingold Diet
Started in 1973, “Dr.” Benjamin Feingold, a pediatric allergist from California, proposed that artificial colors and flavors in food caused hyperactivity in children. To treat or prevent this condition, Feingold suggested a diet that was free of such chemicals, claiming that in addition to ‘hyperactivity’ it could also cure asthma, bedwetting, ear infections, eye-muscle disorders, seizures, sleep disorders, stomach aches, and a long list of other symptoms that supposedly respond to the Feingold program. It is also claimed that sensitivity to synthetic additives and salicylates may be a factor in antisocial traits, compulsive aggression, self-mutilation, difficulty in reasoning, stuttering, and exceptional clumsiness. The “Symptom Checklist” on the Feingold Association web site includes many additional problems. Mr. Feingold has since been revealed to have never gone to medical school and is currently serving time for child pornography charges.

Gerson Method
The proponents of the Gerson diet claim that cancer can be cured only by way of toxins being eliminated from the body. They recommend “detoxification” with frequent coffee enemas and a low-sodium diet that includes more than a gallon per day of juices made from fruits, vegetables, and raw calf’s liver. This method was developed by Max Gerson, a German-born physician who emigrated to America in 1936 and practiced in New York City until his death in 1959.

That pretty much answers a question that one could ask about what portable bed to buy. It depends on where you are going, what you are doing, or what you are. Are you going camping, to college, or vacationing? Are you a backpacker, a student, a mother, someone who travels a lot?

For Campers, Hikers and Backpackers. If you are frequently going on trips to the mountains, up steep trails and camping grounds, you have the choice of sleeping pad, inflatable mattress or sleeping cot. Each has its own advantage and disadvantage. A sleeping pad is easy to use, but it is generally less comfortable as it would put you more directly over rocks and tree rots than an inflatable mattress or cot would. An inflatable mattress, being cushioned, is more comfortable than a sleeping pad while being comparable in size, ease of use and weight. But it is prone to puncture and is more complex to use as it would need inflation and deflation. A sleeping cot has the advantage of height over a mattress and a sleeping pad. But it is more complicated to set up than a sleeping pad and could take up tent space. With these considerations, it’s for you, the buyer, to balance these factors when choosing a bed.

For Mothers. Running a home would most likely mean having to accommodate relatives, the kids’ friends or other visitors in the house. Portable beds will be a good thing to have when there’s no more room space in the house. An air bed or inflatable mattress would always come in handy when unexpected guests arrive or when going over with the kids to the house of relatives or on hotels during vacation. Inflatable beds offer the advantage of being light to carry and easy to keep without the need for large spaces. They can also be rolled and folded to variable dimensions.

For Babies. Portable air beds for infants and toddlers could help a lot in making the child comfortable whether at home or somewhere else. With the baby comfy, Mommy could enjoy and relax herself. Kids’ travel beds usually have raised edges to keep the child from rolling off and falling. They’re great to carry when visiting grandma and grandpa, when traveling or napping at a visit to the park.

For Students. Going off to your first year in college and living on your own in your first apartment? Just like Mom in your home, an inflatable mattress, air bed or sleeping pad would come in handy around your dorm. You can bring it when sleeping over to friends’ place, or going on camping trips. You can also have use for portable beds if you have guests coming over and they need a place to sleep. Or perhaps an opportunity will come to you when you need to travel to another city or state to do summer jobs, volunteer works, trainings and the accommodation is such that you need to bring your own bed.
