my son was in his full size bed at two. he was able to climb in and get out of bed safely, though he rolled off of the bed a night sometimes, that is what a side railing is for, if you want to spend more money on that. i suggest not getting a toddler bed, go ahead and get a full sixe bed. they are sometimes cheaper, unless your crib turns into one. it will take some getting used to because the mattress is softer and not a confined area. she will enjoy the freedom, but again, once you go to a regular bed, you can not go back, and rememebr, your toddler will not be confined when trying to lay her down to sleep.
References :
A very good indication is if the toddler can climb out of the crib. It is then certainly time to move her to a toddler bed.
References :
Since my boy's are both 14 months apart, I moved my oldest son in to a toddler bed at the age of 18 months, When his brother was ready to move from the bassinet to the crib, It didn't work out to well at first, he kept getting out of his bed and wouldn't stay in !!! I finally had to put up a baby gate and let him play him self out, even though he did cry some, when my youngest son was around 14 months he started to climb out of the crib, he was ready for the " Big Boy Bed" again I had to put a baby gate up ove the bedroom door, eventually, they both started staying in their beds and sleeping.............. good luck
References :
I switched my son to a toddler bed when he turned one. He fell out of the bed a few times, but that's basically how he learn. You do have to take them back to bed sometimes, but it's all good. It's all apart of the experience.
References :
if she is not trying to climb out of her crib then you can wait until she is 2 or 2 1/2 . my son was two because he kept climbing out of his crib...i would've waited otherwise.
References :
When they start trying to climb out of it. Until then, why on earth would you want to have her climb out of bed every time they feel like it? After all, nap time is for you, not her.
